Reflexology CPD

Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

CPD should never be thought of as a chore to be done in order to gather points. Rather it should be looked upon as an opportunity to develop knowledge and gather new skills in order to better serve our clients and our practice.

We have tried to keep our CPD requirements short so that they are easy to understand and to follow.

  1. We have a points system for CPD in which one hour of allowable activity counts as one point.
  2. An activity is anything that you believe (and which you can justify) will be of benefit either to your clients or your practice or to both.
  3. You will be asked to accrue 60 CPD points in each rolling three year period.
  4. You will need a minimum of 15 points in any one year.
  5. You may carry forward a maximum of 25 points from one year to the next
  6. CPD activity is self audited, but random checks will be made, so please maintain complete records.
  7. Examples of acceptable activities might be: -

    • Attend a seminar, workshop, training days, group meetings etc. .
    • Prepare and deliver a talk.
    • Research into conditions and methods of treatment.
    • Write an article or other PR material.
    • Read Professional Reflexology articles
    • Any activity and the preparation involved in the promotion of reflexology.
    • Any activity involved in the promotion of your business.
    • Exchange treatments with a fellow therapist.
    • Travel to and from an activity. 50 miles = one point.
    • Any other activity that complies with item 2
  8. No one type of activity shall amount to more than 75% of the total annual point requirement. e.g. 20 points gained in seminar attendance may only be counted as 15 points in any one year .
  9. You may count points gained with another membership body provided the criteria in item 2 is met.
