Linda Treadwell Gentle Touch TM Reflexologist
I started my working life in 1969 as an auxillary nurse in a nursing home run by nuns. From there I progressed to the NHS and have worked in for over 30 years, I am a registered general nurse and have been a practising midwife for 17 years. In 2002 I became interested in complementary therapies and looked into Reiki and did first degree followed by second degree a year later, in 2005 I did Reiki third degree.
In 2004 I became interested in Reflexology and looked at different schools on the internet and the one that really appealed to me was Gentle Touch Reflexology. I applied for the course and attended an interview and secured the last place. The course I did allowed me to take two exams therefore I graduated with two level three qualifications. The Association of Reflexologists (MAR) and the Institute for Complementary and Natural Medicine (MBRCP) I have never looked back, it has opened my world. Being a midwife I have treated many pregnant women (and other clients) and have gained lots of experience. Reflexology is a fantastic therapy and has many benefits.
Gentle Touch Reflexology (GTR) is as the name implies, a very gentle subtle form of Reflexology. Traditional forms of Reflexology apply firm pressure which at times can be rather uncomfortable and sometimes painful. GTR is a very gentle approach and extremely powerful, it works emotionally, physically and with increased levels of energy. One foot is treated and then the practitioner transfers to the other foot and back again and this keeps the body in balance. This form of Reflexology prolongs the practitioners working life as there is less stress on the thumbs, shoulders, neck and back. GTR helps with many conditions, it is a wonderful treatment and the benefits are very rewarding.
In the very near future I will be teaching a three day course for qualified Reflexologists in the Gentle Touch TM Technique and will be advertising my courses.
